St. Augustine is one of the most historically significant locations in the whole of Florida. As Florida’s very first coastal town, it is home to historical attractions, as well as beaches that make it a popular tourist destination for people of all tastes and styles. Many people find that it is the ideal location for rediscovering what they already know about the great state of Florida.

St. Augustine is revered as a gateway through time to discover the furthest history of Florida, as well as America’s very oldest community. It is a tribute to its full history and proud past. Having survived over 430 years, it boasts as the oldest city in the United States. In North American terms, St. Augustine is an ancient city, founded 42 years before even Jamestown was colonized by England, and 55 years before Plymouth Rock saw its pilgrims.

Since the dawn of space flight, John F. Kennedy Space Center has been at the forefront of America's ongoing adventure in space. From here, NASA has launched heroic astronauts and cutting-edge spacecraft on bold missions to Earth orbit, the moon and the universe beyond.

Established as NASA's Launch Operations Center on July 1, 1962, the center was renamed in honor of the nation's 35th president following his death. His vision to land astronauts on the moon within that decade inspired and challenged the agency. Today, as NASA begins a new era in exploration, that spirit continues to guide the center to new heights.

By 1998, Walt Disney World announced the attendance of its 600,000,000th guest. Today, Orlando welcomes more visitors each year than the population of California - over 43.3 million (2000 statistics), which makes Orlando the number one tourist destination in the world. Most of them stay in one of 100,000 hotel rooms and visit 7 major theme parks. The current population of Orlando is approximately 185,000 and the Metro-Orlando population is over 1,500,000. Orlando continues to be one of the fastest growing communities in Florida as well as the United States. Not bad for a mosquito-ridden cowtown.
